After more than twenty five years of shaping emo and alternative rock, The Used are preparing for a career milestone that feels almost unreal. In March 2026, the band will walk onto one of the most famous stages in the world. For the first time ever, The Used will perform at the Sydney Opera House for a black tie event titled A Mid Summer Night’s Symphony. Fans can expect a full orchestra, a full choir and a once in a lifetime experience that no one could have predicted back when the band first exploded out of Utah in the early 2000s.

Vocalist Bert McCracken summed up the energy perfectly. He called the Opera House one of the most prestigious venues on the planet and could not hide the excitement of playing there with an orchestra behind them. For a band that built its reputation on raw emotion, distortion and beautifully chaotic melodies, the idea of hearing songs like The Taste of Ink and I Caught Fire reimagined with cinematic arrangements is enough to give anyone chills.

This announcement follows their almost entirely sold out twenty fifth anniversary tour earlier this year. That run saw three classic albums performed in full across multiple nights. Their self titled debut from 2002, In Love And Death from 2004 and Lies For The Liars from 2007. It was a celebration of a band that has influenced generations of fans and artists, and it proved that their early catalogue still hits as hard now as it did two decades ago.

The Used have never been a nostalgic act resting on old victories. Their legacy includes four Top Ten debuts on the Billboard 200, ten Billboard Hot 100 singles and countless festival appearances across the world. Their impact sits alongside scene heavyweights such as My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy, with Kerrang calling their early post hardcore chaos a vital part of the movement that broke those bands into the mainstream. Their fanbase continues to expand across generations, proving that the emotional honesty and unfiltered energy of The Used has not lost its edge.

With a packed touring schedule to close out the year alongside Papa Roach and more appearances booked for 2026, including Emo’s Not Dead Cruise and Sonic Temple, the band shows no signs of slowing down. Adding the Sydney Opera House to that list is a statement in itself. It is not just a concert. It is a cultural moment for both the band and the Australian heavy community.

A Mid Summer Night’s Symphony is set for Sunday 29 March 2026. Tickets will not last long. Fans have waited more than two decades to see The Used in a setting like this and the demand is already enormous.

Early bird pre sale begins Tuesday 2 December at 11am AEDT. Fans can register for access at daltours.cc/TheUsedSOH. General tickets go on sale Wednesday 3 December at 11am AEDT through the Sydney Opera House website.

If you have ever screamed along to Pretty Handsome Awkward or cried your way through I Caught Fire, this is your moment. The Used with a full orchestra on the steps of one of the most iconic venues in the world is something Australian fans will be talking about for years. This one is going to be unforgettable.
