CANADIAN ROCK ACT, THE DIRTY NIL, HAVE RELEASED THEIR LATEST SINGLE 'ROCK 'N' ROLL BAND' OFF OF THEIR FORTHCOMING fifth ALBUM 'THE LASH'; SET FOR RELEASE ON JULY 25TH. 'rock 'n' roll band' is a "high-octane blast of alternative rock and

punk, packed with frustration, truth, and just enough sarcasm to keep it all fun. “Though the song is pretty negative, it makes me happy,” Bentham says. “This one is for all the road dogs – we salute you.”
the track is the third single release from the album, following "gallop of the hounds" and "spider dream".
“Rock N’ Roll Band” was the very first song frontman Luke Bentham wrote for The Lash, and it arrived fast and furious. “I don’t remember what particular aspect of the industry had got my goat that day, but I’d worked myself up to a fine lather,” Bentham recalls. “I blasted out the whole song in 30 minutes and instantly felt better."

"Someone else is getting rich but you."
'rock 'n' roll band' talks about the burdens of band life and perils of fame in such an in your face way that I think needs to be done more often. band life can be far from glamorous and the dirty nil have not shied away from that aspect.
"so you want to be in a rock 'n' roll band' with your friends in a broken van on the highway hauling ass with a hole in your pocket and half tank of gas all your loved ones worried sick."
all of this is set over an energetic and bouncy punk beat that personally made me feel like they were showing you the public face of the band, and the behind the scenes turmoil at the same time. it is interesting and will definitely be added to more than one playlist.
