Deficit release new ep - 'DEATHSTYLE'

Deficit combines two things we love to see here at hot and heavy... local talent and nu-metal/hardcore new releases. Deficit are a Sydney-based band who have just announced their latest EP release, titled 'Deathstyle'. Set for release on November 21st, the band have said that 'deathstyle' is "the very embodiment of Deficit's sound; it's the definition of Deficit's own unique genre". If you haven't heard of deficit then you're about to be introduced to a phenomenal new band. deficit ARE NOT NEW TO THE SCENE, HAVING ALREADY RELEASED FOUR EP'S AND HAVING TOURED WITH BANDS SUCH AS OCEAN SLEEPER, ALPHA WOLF, MALEVOLENCE, DIAMOND CONSTRUCT AND PROMPTS. tHE BAND, COMPOSED OF MEMBERS Nathan Newman, MacLean Ryan, Michael Campbell, Blake Fry and Zak Borg, ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. Deficit released their single “FYA” in early September, before their October release of "deathstyle'". The band collaborated with UNITYTX on "FYA" for a fusion of rap-metal and aggressive energy. The track has been described as combining the artists' "chaotic chemistry". "Deathstyle" is yet another fusion of sounds, creating perfect musical chaos. It's intense in both vocals and instrumentals. The band have said of the track, "'Death' refers to our roots in Metal, Hardcore, Death Metal, and Deathcore, while 'Style' captures the groove, catchiness, and swagger that define our identity."
The track begins with echoing single notes, set against record-scratching that brings in a hip-hop feel. Just when you think you've figured out the feel of the track, electric guitars come in, merging beautifully with the sounds of the intro. Hard vocals burst in and you can feel the energy and intensity behind these. The music video for the track is high energy with a mix of blurred visuals, break dancing and contrasting slow motion and quick shots. Prepare your neck braces because this track is three and a half minutes of head-bangable intensity.
