DE’WAYNE Gets Raw and Reflective With New Single “SUNDAYS”

Rising star, DE’WAYNE, has just dropped his most personal track yet titled “sundays” and it hits straight in the heart. The emotional new single is the final preview of his upcoming third studio album, ‘june’, which arrives July 30 via Fearless Records.
Bursting onto the scene in 2017, DE’WAYNE blends rock ‘n’ roll with funk, R&B, alternative, and magic. With praise from UPSET “It’s time to sit up and pay attention.” and KERRANG! “One of the most electrifying new performers in the alt. world today.” Along with that, DE’WAYNE has collaborated with a number of fellow musicians such as Chase Atlantic, IDKHOW, Waterparks, Good Charlotte, and even Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine to name a few.
With “sundays”, DE’WAYNE lays it all out for the listener, diving into the complicated, tender, and sometimes painful terrain of his relationship with his father. Wrapped in lush synths and soulful melodies, this track continues to demonstrate DE’WAYNE as a fearless standout of the scene, fusing genres with authenticity and rawness.
“When I wrote this song, I wanted to explain the complicated bond between a father and son. One where love and pain, admiration, and resentment all live side by side. It’s about seeing your father as both a hero and a human, flawed and real. In the end, it’s my way of saying; ‘Thank you, Dad—for the good and the bad. You helped make me who I am,’” shares DE’WAYNE.
This announcement follows the release of three other irresistible songs off the record including the title track “june”, the instinctive love song “biological” and the electric anthem highway “robbery.”

If “sundays” is anything to go by, ‘june’ is going to be a bold and honest project. Self-described as a “epic rock love album,” the upcoming record promises to be oozing soul, sex, and style. A genre-blurring journey built on soul, passion, and fearlessness. DE’WAYNE has given this record everything from blood, sweat, tears, love, spirituality, and truth.
The album was created with longtime collaborator Dylan Bauld and songwriting talent Brandon Colbein, both of whom helped bring DE’WAYNE’s vision to life.
“Every song on this record was a surrender, and June is the light guiding it all. I wanted to reframe vulnerability as a superpower, not a weakness, and use this record to show my evolution—not just as an artist, but as a human being,” adds DE’WAYNE.

With ‘june’ on the horizon and “sundays” making waves, DE’WAYNE is entering a new chapter. You’ll be able to catch him hitting the Long Beach stop of the Vans Warped Tour on July 26–27, adding another major show to a long list of festival appearances that already includes Lollapalooza, Gov Ball, Bonnaroo, Reading & Leeds, and BottleRock.
