Chicago’s own Action/Adventure are back with a bang, dropping their latest single “Spiral” a high energy yet anxiety fuelled anthem lifted from their upcoming album Ever After, set to drop October 24 via Pure Noise Records.

Blending their signature punchy riffs with raw emotion, “Spiral” dives deep into the uneasy feeling of being stuck inside your own head. Guitarist Oren Trace explains,

“This song is about sitting in a room at 2AM after having a slow day with a looming anxiety that someone close to you has something difficult to tell you, but they’ve been avoiding it. Trying to distract yourself to sleep but never getting fully out of your head. Wondering what Tay Zonday is up to.”

The track arrives alongside a visually striking video, directed by vocalist Blake Evaristo, who says,

“The opportunity to direct this music video was one I did not take lightly. After all the stress of planning, shooting, and editing I’m super stoked on how it turned out. I think it captures the anxiety ridden feel of the song while providing a fun visual treat just in time for the Halloween spirit. It really was a labor of love between the band, the video crew, and our friends and I think that’ll come through when you watch it.”

Ever After sees Action/Adventure levelling up, pairing the band’s vibrant, pop punk energy with introspective songwriting and sharp production. The record explores the push and pull of balancing creativity, identity, and everyday life, marking a bold new chapter for the group. Produced by Alan Day (Four Year Strong, Knuckle Puck), it’s a record built on honesty, perseverance, and growth.

Formed in 2014, Action/Adventure, Blake Evaristo, Brompton Jackson, Adrian Brown, Manny Avila, and Oren Trace — first gained traction in 2020 when their TikTok video “Barricades” went viral, highlighting the challenges of being an all BIPOC band in the pop-punk scene. They followed up with their Pulling Focus EP and 2022’s Imposter Syndrome, cementing their reputation as one of pop punk’s most exciting and authentic voices.

Ever After expands on that foundation, featuring collaborations with Dan Lambton (rationale., ex-Real Friends), Ben Jorgensen (Armor for Sleep), and Noahfinnce. The result? A record that’s equally self aware and explosive, the perfect soundtrack for feeling everything all at once.
