Naarm's own progressive death metallers, GROWTH, have given us a date for their new album, UNDER THE UNDER . You can expect it to release via WILD THING RECORDS on MARCH 27TH.

This is the second part to a trilogy of albums, starting with 2020's THE SMOTHERING ARMS OF MERCY. Their debut was written from the pits of COVID-19, with isolation and collapse at the front of everyone's mind.

UNDER THE UNDER explores the confrontation of the life that follows, the rediscovery of who you are once survival is no longer the question and life has settled.

"healing, is not gentle. It is an ugly process. Chaotic, disorienting and often more confronting than the pain that preceded it."

Leading single, 'REMEMBER ME AS FIRE', picks up from where the smothering arms of mercy left in 2020. Where "Self erasure feels easier than self awareness", and Growth will take you to rock bottom.

'remember me as fire' is as violent as you need to be to move beyond that moment, with biting guitars hitting you from all sides, backed up with unbelievably fast drums and bouncing bass riffs.

There are few moments where this track slows the tempo and breaks down the wall of sound. Though, they don't let up on the desolate tone or fierce vocals. And once they've let you sink down enough, growth will yank you up and throw you back into the intensity.

Being my first venture into the band, I can say that 'REMEMBER ME AS FIRE' is a stellar introduction to their sound and impact, so I'm excited to get to know their new album.

"Growth does not offer solutions but instead offers honesty and an invitation to sit with the questions most of us spend our lives avoiding."

under the under drops on march 27th via wild thing records.

Stay in touch with growth, so you don't miss anything from under the under!
