Choose Your Cruise has officially confirmed that Hellbound will return in January 2027, following the immediate sell out of its maiden voyage in 2026. If you blinked and missed out the first time, this is your redemption arc. Australia’s first dedicated heavy metal cruise is back and it is already shaping up to be bigger, louder and harder to get onto.

Hellbound II will sail from 17 to 21 January 2027 aboard Carnival Splendor, delivering four nights of non stop heavy metal chaos at sea. More than just a festival on a ship, Hellbound has cemented itself as a floating metal community, bringing together world class artists, passionate fans and an immersive onboard environment built entirely around heavy music culture.
The return of Hellbound is a direct response to the overwhelming demand for the inaugural cruise, which was announced for October 2026 and sold out in less than ten minutes. That sell out became the fastest in Choose Your Cruise’s fifteen year history, proving this was never just a gimmick. The scene wanted it and they showed up immediately.
While the full lineup for Hellbound 2027 is still under wraps, it will be revealed on Monday 2 February and expectations are already high. Highlights for the next chapter include a stacked metal lineup, multiple stages spread across the ship, immersive events, themed nights and curated activities designed specifically for metal fans. This is not a cruise where heavy music is a side attraction. It is the entire point.
Between breakdowns and late nights, cruisers will also get a chance to recharge with a port call at Tangalooma. The island stop offers experiences such as dolphin feeding, sand tobogganing and snorkelling shipwrecks, making it the perfect contrast to four nights of controlled chaos onboard.
Key dates are already locked in for those wanting to secure a cabin. The lineup will be announced Monday 2 February, with pre sale access opening Wednesday 4 February for those who register their interest. General sale goes live Thursday 5 February, and based on last time, hesitation is not recommended.
Choose Your Cruise has been a major force in Australia’s music cruise scene since launching in 2009 and setting sail for the first time in 2010. With over 40 themed cruises across Australia and Europe and more than 100,000 guests welcomed onboard, they have built a reputation for high quality, genre specific experiences with fiercely loyal audiences. Hellbound is quickly becoming one of their most defining offerings.

If the first Hellbound proved anything, it is that metalheads are more than ready to swap muddy festival fields for open decks, ocean views and pits at sea. January 2027 is coming fast and if history repeats itself, this one will not be available for long.
