Story Of The Year have released their brand new single Disconnected, the second taste of their upcoming eighth studio album A.R.S.O.N., out everywhere February 13, 2026 via SharpTone Records.

Disconnected is a brutally honest track that captures the frustration of wanting to get better without knowing where to begin, fighting the urge to implode in isolation. Cathartic screams, punchy guitars and towering drums drive the emotion as frontman Dan Marsala confesses, “I’m sick of being disconnected from everything I need.” The accompanying music video mirrors that emotional chaos, visually portraying the dizzying limbo between healing and falling apart.
Guitarist Ryan Phillips explains that the song perfectly reflects where the band are creatively today, blending big anthemic vocals with massive guitar riffs and relentless high energy drums. The track almost took a completely different form until producer Colin Brittain pushed him to rethink the main riff. What began as a piano piece intended for a solo record evolved into the crushing low tuned whammy bar riff that now anchors Disconnected, a reminder that sometimes the best moments come from unexpected places.
The track follows the band’s recent single Gasoline (All Rage Still Only Numb), which exploded out of the gate topping SiriusXM Octane as the number one most played song after release and currently sits tied for the fifth most added track on active rock charts this week. Together, the two singles give fans a powerful preview of the heaviness, raw emotion and urgency that will define A.R.S.O.N.
An acronym for All Rage, Still Only Numb, the album hones in on themes of anxiety, emotional unrest and the shadows we carry. Story Of The Year push their sound forward while reconnecting with the brutal honesty that has always defined them, fusing modern post hardcore with polished production and flashes of their early emo roots.

The band first exploded with their genre shaping debut Page Avenue, one of the earliest albums of its kind to sell over a million copies. The enduring anthem Until the Day I Die became both their breakout moment and a mission statement. What started as four friends working in a St Louis pizza shop grew into a movement that has carried through In the Wake of Determination, The Black Swan, The Constant, Wolves and Tear Me to Pieces, with the current lineup of Dan Marsala, Ryan Phillips, Josh Wills and Adam Russell continuing to deliver melodic aggression and scream along anthems built for dark rooms.
2025 was a massive live year for the band, with appearances at Aftershock, When We Were Young, Vans Warped Tour Orlando and an extensive co headline tour with Senses Fail. They will kick off 2026 aboard the Emo’s Not Dead Cruise before returning home for a special album release show in St Louis, then hitting major festivals including Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple and the UK’s Download Festival.
A.R.S.O.N. is available for pre order now, with Disconnected streaming everywhere.
