Buffalo’s own SPACED are blasting off again and this time, they’ve got Pure Noise Records backing the mission. Their new EP ‘ No Escape’ is out now, and it’s five tracks of pure chaos, groove, and cosmic hardcore energy that proves why everyone’s been talking about these guys.

From the opening riff, it’s clear this isn’t your ‘run of the mill’ hardcore record. No Escape is a mind bending mix of crushing aggression and spaced out textures, the kind that hits like a punch to the face but still sends you floating through the stars. SPACED have always described their sound as “far out hardcore,” and honestly, that label couldn’t fit better. Think hardcore with a technicolor twist, stomping riffs, groove heavy breakdowns, and layers of psychedelic fuzz that keep things unpredictable.

To celebrate the release, the band dropped a brand-new music video for How Did It Come To This? a dizzying ride through phased out guitars and relentless grooves that’s built to start circle pits and melt brains at the same time.

Formed in 2021, SPACED hit the scene already sounding like they’d been doing this for years. Fronted by the powerhouse Lexi Reyngoudt, alongside Joe Morganti and Donny Arthur on guitars, John Vaughan on bass, and Dan McCormick behind the kit this crew have carved out a sound that feels fresh, defiant, and full of life. Their latest work pushes every boundary they’ve already set, leaning harder into the heavy, the trippy, and the brutally honest.

Recorded with producer Jay Zubricky (Every Time I Die, Terror, Age of Apocalypse), No Escape captures exactly what it feels like to live, grind, and scream into the void in 2025. “It’s about feeling suffocated by everyday life,” Reyngoudt explains. “We grind at work, then grind on the road, all while the world feels like it’s collapsing around us. But hardcore gives us an outlet and a community that fights back together.”

That sense of unity pulses through every song on this EP. From the explosive opener No Escape to the relentless Cause and Effect, SPACED channel anger, exhaustion, and hope all at once. Tracks like Pressure and Dog Bite twist between psychedelic chaos and full on aggression proving that SPACED aren’t just breaking genre walls, they’re vaporising them.

What makes No Escape special, though, is how much heart sits underneath the noise. There’s defiance in every lyric, but there’s also gratitude for the hardcore scene, for the people who show up, for the community that never lets go. SPACED are loud, fierce, and unapologetically themselves.

And that’s exactly why they stand out.

Hardcore has always been about positive aggression and SPACED are living proof that you can rage, scream, and still bring light into the dark. This isn’t “tough guy hardcore.” This is inclusive, free spirited, and full of love for the scene.

Because sometimes, the best way to deal with the world falling apart is to scream about it with your friends, preferably while getting knocked around in the pit.
