Oh, so you’re looking for something heavy? Let me introduce you to ‘Let the angels take me’' by Seek Misery. If the sound isn’t heavy enough for you, lyrics like “I lay in my blood soaked bath tub” and “years of self-hatred has done this to me” will surely darken your day.

The track kicks off with the sound of guitar distortion, building up to the guttural screams and release of the lyrics “I’m still rotting within”. This perfectly sets you up for the rest of the track which continues with heavy lyrics, heavy growls and heavy instrumentals. The track is centered around the feeling of despair and this is conveyed in both the lyrics and the overall feeling you’re left with after listening. The final lyrics will leave you with a sense of helplessness and hopelessness. The track is almost four minutes of pure scream, immersing you in the pain communicated by the vocalist. If you’re a fan of deathcore then this track is going to be right up your dark alley.
As you come to the end of the track your ears are permeated with long, guttural growls. You can hear the aspiration between screams, giving you a true sense of the pain and strain being projected out.

Seek Misery are a deathcore/metalcore band who hail from South Australia. They’ve described themselves as an act whose sounds blend “elements of metalcore and deathcore with a nu-metal inspired twist and provocative lyrics”. The band formed in 2020 and started out as an online band before delving into the world of live performance. Seek Misery released ‘let the angels take me’ in April, 2024 and describe the track as having a “gritty and dark overtone throughout”. The low-tuned guitars bring in a sinister undertone to add to the songs already dark impression.

Seek Misery have stated that they want to make a mark in the Australian heavy music scene and that they have a professional drive to push forward with their intense sound. With new music about to be released, the band is set to continue their current success and continue to fill listeners ears with heavy music. If you're a fan of their sound you can find out more on their Bandcamp, facebook, instagram and youtube pages.
Seek Misery have upcoming shows at dead by daylight IV: Rebirth Melbourne (17th may) and Adelaide (7th June).
