California’s genre bending rockers Hail The Sun are back with a new single, “Relapse Is A Love Affair,” lifted from their upcoming record cut. turn. fade. back. Dropping October 24 via Equal Vision / Civilians.
Frontman Donovan Melero shared that the track comes from a deeply personal place: “After almost 14 years clean, I relapsed in 2023. I likened that feeling to giving in to a love affair, it’s always waiting, ready to catch you off guard. Thankfully, with the support of my family and friends, I found my footing again.”

The band recently hit the road across North America with Between The Buried and Me, after headlining their own Kill Iconic Fest in Texas featuring acts like Head Automatica, Makari, Omerta, and Resilia.
Produced by Pete Adams and Johnny Kosich of Beach Noise (Kendrick Lamar) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Coheed & Cambria), cut. turn. fade. back. explores life’s endless cycles touching on themes of addiction, loss, love, and mortality.
From the explosive opener “The Drooling Class” to the powerful closer “War Crimes,” the record feels like a full circle moment for the band both familiar and refreshingly daring. Tracks like “There’s No Place In Heaven For Fakes,” “Insensitive Tempo,” and “I Can Tell By The Scars” showcase the group’s ability to evolve while staying rooted in their post-hardcore foundations.

Fifteen years in, Hail The Sun continue to deliver music that challenges, connects, and keeps fans guessing what’s next.
