GRIM’s latest single ‘Hammer Of Justice’ is a testament to what makes Aussie hardcore so special. This song is equal parts outspoken and abrasive but is ultimately drenched in passion and holds absolutely nothing back.
Hailing from Albury NSW, this track follows from their last highly-rated single ‘Blood, Sweat And Fear.’ (you can read Emily’s review of that one here!)

Taking influences from hardcore/slam and classic 90's heavy drop-tuned guitars, this song is ruthless and while maintaining their signature sound, ‘Hammer Of Justice’ comes through with more personality and overall brutality compared to their last track.

The track opens with an audio clip from Crocodile Dundee 2, which then transitions into a heavy distorted drone.
This build-up makes the incoming riffage that much more hard-hitting and in your face, as brutal chugging guitars, forceful drums and harsh ferocious vocals come together to create sonic savagery.

With lyrics like “break free from the chains of conformity” and “do you want to see what it’s like to be cast aside” delivered through guttural vocals, ‘Hammer Of Justice’ is an extremely impactful track.
Through repetition of the line “hammer of justice”, the song feels like a rallying war-cry for those that have been fucked over by society.
Fans of Aussie hardcore and slam should definitely keep an eye on GRIM, because these guys are not playing around! I'll definitely be looking forward to more releases from these guys (hopefully in the near future!)
