Following their raging local success with ‘GUNDA’ Flow Kobra have graced fans with another heavy-hitting and tuneful single release, ‘ROLL IT OVER’. This single accompanies the thrilling announcement of their upcoming EP, ‘FLY TO THE SKY’.

‘ROLL IT OVER’ is a fresh sound from the Wollongong-based trap-metal band Flow Kobra, produced and mixed by Jacob Wilkes (Above, Below), the band has shown their softer (yet equally loud) side.
Where ‘GUNDA’ showcases lead vocalists Kobe Stimson’s powerful scream singing, ‘ROLL IT OVER’ gives fans a full look at Stimson’s clean singing and smooth rap tones.
Stimson himself describes the song as a step away from their previous EP ‘CRINGE CLIQUE’ IN THE FOLLOWING QUOTE.
''ROLL IT OVER' marks a new chapter for us, leaving behind the dark grittiness of 'CRINGE CLIQUE' for a more uplifting and euphoric journey. The track embodies the resilience of making it through life's storms to reach a blissful state, embracing hope and transformation."
You can REALLY feel THIS NEW lightness as compared to their previous single ‘GUNDA’, and their previous album ‘CRINGE CLIQUE’. Particularly With the opening of the song which uses an electronic, synth-y beat before introducing their familiar brilliant cacophony of thundering bass lines and crunchy, ear-worm guitar riffs.

This electronic beat carries on throughout the song and provides an impactful euphoric tone during the artful bridge that cuts the rest of the band and relies on a chorus vocal and a melodic, floaty guitar riff.
The bridge's refrain, ‘I wish things were different’, is simple and saccharine. The repetition and simplicity allow you to easily imagine the song live with this moment as an emotionally transportive call and response with a crowd. Already, you can see the crowds swaying and lighters (or phones) in the air before the final crashing and welcoming chorus is screamed along with them.

‘ROLL IT OVER’ makes you feel hopeful, warm, and comfortable with their nostalgia tripping 2000’s nu-metal style and a softer approach both vocally and musically.
Notably enjoyable is a subtle Korn-like high-note palm muting in the second verse that provides a fun and energetic tonal colour to the contrasting chunking guitar.
Those sharp high notes singing into the chaos induce listeners with a light-hearted giddiness that permeates the single.
‘ROLL IT OVER’ feels gleeful and freeing. It's a song THAT IS meant to be played live and heard alongside a thriving crowd.
fans of Flow Kobra from their previously released music won’t feel isolated, however. Built into the song is the same captivating rap tone and body-thrashing bass and drum line that Flow Kobra is quickly becoming known for.
There’s something in this song for everyone.
‘ROLL IT OVER’ is a brilliant comeback from this local band and an exciting omen for Flow Kobra’s future EP ‘FLY TO THE SKY’.

If you want to hear more from Flow Kobra you can hear them live at Gongcore (March 26) or Darkside Fest (April 26) in Wollongong.
