Taking cues from the trailblazers of early 2000's emo punk, Brisbane-based pop punk band Atlas and the Attic have just dropped a hard-hitting brand new single.

‘Polyester City’ is a response to the current Australian housing crisis, expressing the group's thoughts on the rise of homelessness and the disparity between classes within Australian society.

Utilising thought provoking lyrics and a punk inspired alt-rock sound, this track is deeply impactful.

tension between melodic vocals and melancholic instrumentals in each verse rise into a climactic and emotional guitar-driven chorus. The tone of the track shifts slightly towards the last third, with raw vocals and stripped back riffs driving home the vulnerability within the track.

‘Polyester City’ is the lead single and title track from the band’s upcoming 2025 EP, which the band state will “critique the harshness of societal structure and the unpredictability of fellow humans”.

Fans of Turnstile, Touché Amoré and Hot Mulligan will really love this one and should stay updated on when Atlas and the Attic drop their EP later in the year.

Atlas and the Attic will be performing at their upcoming single launch at Brisbane’s Junk Bar on October 3. You can get tickets here!
