'Torn From Hope' Release Debut Track "Lights Out" (Review)

Torn From Hope are a newly formed modern metalcore band from Brisbane. There is definitely something in those Queensland waters, because Torn From Hope deliver sheer and relentless brutality with ease and authenticity with “Lights Out”.
This aggression serves as a backdrop to raw and honest lyricism that demonstrate Torn From Hope’s core mission to give a voice to those fighting battles that often go unseen.
"Lights Out" is unapologetically heavy right from the very first note.
The sonic elements that make this track really evocative are the crushing yet melodic guitar riffs that drive the momentum of the song.
Towards the middle of the song, the momentum builds into a grinding and crushing breakdown, which is shortly followed by a stunning, soaring technical guitar solo (which really shocked me, in the best way lol).
"Lights Out" concludes with the same tenacity it opened with, but amplified ten-times over, with another even fiercer breakdown and absolutely insane guitar shredding.
"Lights Out" is a track that deals with heavy themes of addiction and the complicated inner turmoil that surrounds those struggles, in a way that many listeners will resonate with.
I love it when artists are able to find that beautiful duality between heaviness and catharsis in their music, and I think Torn From Hope absolutely balances this mix perfectly.
Fans of Polaris, Wage War, The Ghost Inside, Currents and Malevolence will definitely vibe with Torn From Hope’s sound and will absolutely want to give "Lights Out" a listen for themselves.
