SAFEHAVEN - NIGHTCRAWLER REVIEW
THERE'S A NEW BAND ON THE BLOCK. WELCOME TO SAFEHAVEN. A 5-PIECE COLLECTIVE BUILT ON COHESION, BOTH SONICALLY AND VISUALLY.
BUILT ON Y2K FUTURISM AND SOFT CLUB AESTHETICS, IT'S LIKE COMBINING ALL MY FAVORITE GENRES I LISTENED TO IN THE 2000'S TIED INTO ONE. AND YES.... THIS INCLUDES BOY BANDS.

“Have you ever seen somebody across the other side of a packed room, and not been able to take your eyes off of them? To the point where you intrusively start thinking about the imaginary life you could have together? That's the core of Nightcrawler. It's all of those scenarios that walk the line between this strange social yearning and obsession. I wanted to write about a feeling that was under-explored in this genre.” - Jordan Kellaway
THEIR DEBUT SINGLE NIGHTCRAWLER IS GORGEOUS. IT TELLS THE STORY OF INFATUATION AND FIXATION ON THE SAID NIGHTCRAWLER.
Nightcrawler we might get close
I know better than most that ambition frays the mind
Spite hollows my bitter soul but you play your role
Better than I could've fantasised
Oh, and when we get close
Don't know if you know
But I know the way you roll
THE SONG GIVES MAJOR THORNHILL VIBES SO I KNOW THAT YOU'RE GONNA EAT THIS UP. IT HAS THE PERFECT BLEND OF CLEANS AND SCREAMS. THE PACE IS PERFECT. TO ME, IT FEELS LIKE IT BUILDS CONSISTENTLY THROUGHOUT THE SONG LEADING TO THE BIG FINISH.
“To me, Nightcrawler feels like a breath of fresh air, especially in this genre of music. It’s got a different energy to it. Something that feels natural and wild and exciting to play. It’s got it’s own kind of energy” - Dylan Foti
THE CHORUS IS WHERE THE BOYBAND SPICE COMES IN. JORDAN KELLAWAY (FORMERLY OF NTH RD) DELIVERS BEAUTIFUL CLEAN VOCALS AS WE TAKE A SHORT BREAK FROM THE SCREAMIES AND THE HEAVIES THEN HE THROWS YOU BACK IN.
THEIR MUSIC VIDEO SHOWCASES THAT Y2K COLOUR THEME. THE ICEY BLUES, GREYS AND BLURRY SHADOWS. IT'S STUNNING. THE BOYS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL.
"It feels good to have this be the first thing people hear from us. It's dancey and it's not just a wall of noise, which I think sets up who we are pretty well. We spent a lot of time making sure it still hit hard without losing that. I’m genuinely proud of it.” - Matt George
THE SINGLE IS JUST A TASTE ON WHAT'S TO COME. THE BOYS HAVE BEEN COOKING AND IT'S SAFE TO SAY THAT SAFEHAVEN IS GOING TO BE TAKING 2027 BY THE HORNS.
