Big Red Fire Truck are back in all their glam rock glory with their latest single ‘Tokyo Karaoke Bar’ and they’re bringing the 80’s sound with them in all the best ways.

The song’s opening features the sounds of a bustling (presumably) karaoke bar which immediately sets the tone. We’re in for a fun-loving, cheeky, and decidedly catchy song from the Manly Beach based band.

Digby Robinson’s powerful and energetic voice is exactly what you want from a glam rock band and delivers the bawdy lyrics with a mixture of skill, enthusiasm and attitude that would make David Lee Roth proud.

Robinson pulls off some exhilarating high notes that bring the song to a thoroughly enjoyable crescendo in the later half as the band ramps up the energy around him.

The saturated guitar tone of Ben Frank is satisfying and fitting, as though Frank had stepped out of Def Leppard just for us. He provides an excellent solo that will leave fans headbanging in appreciation and dancing along.

The guitar is playful and lively with a central riff that will firmly place itself in your brain and not let go.

‘Tokyo Karaoke Bar’ is a song you’ll be humming for days after your first listen, even if it’s only once, particularly the main refrain of the song's title ‘Tokyo Karaoke Bar’.

It would be remiss not to mention the lyrics. It’s rare for a modern glam rock band to nail the mix of raunchy yet fun, sexy yet silly, outrageous yet not too over-the-top that we love about the big 80’s glam rock bands.

Big Red Fire Truck have done it and done it well. They’re fun, light-hearted, raunchy and, importantly, memorable. They’ll have you screaming along in no time.
