swedish metalcore outfit thrown have announced a massive headline tour with a stacked lineup featuring boundaries, 156/ silence and volatile ways set to kick off in February.
now unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that this lineup is absolutely peak for lovers of that pissed off mosh metalcore sound, but if you HAVE been, then consider this me figuratively lifting up said rock and showing you the light, with a little breakdown of the lineup from the opener to the headlining band.
Volatile ways

opening the show we have one of our own, hardcore band volatile ways. hailing from newcastle, volatile ways have been making waves for a while now in the hardcore scene, and their trajectory just keeps heading upwards. after a plethora of headline shows this year, they toured europe for the first time, where they would go on to play their first show with thrown, in France. as you can see, this turned out not to be their last, as theyre opening this absolutely stacked bill. but not before they head back across Europe with bodysnatcher, Gideon and psycho-frame in november.
156/silence

if you're a common reader at the hot and heavy show then you'll know Ive written about 156/silence before. from all the way in Pittsburgh, USA, the 5 piece have had me stunned since their collossal 2024 release "people watching" and I , like many others have been waiting for the day that they touch down on Australian soil. and now, its time to rejoice as we don't have to wait much longer. by the time 156/silence touch down in February, they will have released their brand new album "from a distance" which is dropping next Friday (September 4th) below I'm gonna link the lead single from that album, "no arms". (you can also read my news piece I wrote on that one here .)
Boundaries

Now, if you're familiar with the metalcore genre, than this band probably needs no introduction. since 2013, boundaries have been carving a name for themselves in the scene, but they finally started to get their flowers after the release of "burying brightness" in 2022, and then followed it up with two absolutely mammoth albums, "death is little more" in 2024, and "Yearning: the unbeautiful after", which came out earlier this year, and is easily my pick for aoty so far. boundaries were here in January with the plot in you and fit for a king, and I personally think I speak for the majority when I say I'm so glad they're back so soon.
thrown

now if somehow you haven't heard of the headlining band, let me paint you a picture. if you like short but sweet aggressive, high energy songs, with the most ignorant breakdowns you can imagine, thrown are the band for you. since releasing their first ep extended pain in 2022 thrown have been a force to be reckoned with, first hitting Australian stages in 2024 for alpha wolf's half living things tour, then coming back and headlining in 2025 along with half me and diesect.
now with new music in their arsenal, bigger supports and an even bigger audience, thrown are taking this headliner to the same stages they opened for alpha wolf on (bar Perth) as well as hitting up Canberra this time around.

presale for this absolute all timer goes up on THursday 27th August. you can sign up for that here. this will be an unmissable show. follow the link so you don't miss out.
