Australian goth rock The Wrath return with a powerful new single, ‘Nothing’s Forever,’ the first offering from their upcoming third full-length album ‘Into the Arms of Oblivion’, set for release on May 30th, 2025.

Released April 9th, ‘Nothing’s Forever’ captures the band at a new creative peak. Balancing intensity and atmosphere while staying true to the sound they've honed over two decades. Blending punk, goth, and psychobilly influences, the track explores themes of disillusionment, emotional collapse, and the impermanence of love and life.
The track opens with gritty guitars that feel almost spicy in tone, but quickly mutates into something heavier and more brood. There’s a punchy, rhythmic drive here that sets the song up before the integration of vocals even arrives.
There’s a thrash metal adjacent edge in the instrumentation but what really stands out is the juxtaposition of that energy with the track’s goth-leaning vocal delivery: somber, theatrical, and emotionally raw. The song wrestles with betrayal and the fading of connection and that sentiment is echoed in every note. The chorus swells with harmonic tension, and the hook (“Nothing’s forever, our heartstrings are severed”) lands like a cold truth.

‘Nothing’s Forever’ doesn’t just mark a new release, it ignites the next chapter in The Wrath’s 22-year career. Since forming in 2003, the band has carved out a path marked by intensity, resilience, and evolution. From early beginnings in local clubs to commanding stages across Australia and Japan, they’ve been building themselves and their sound. Merging a multitude of genres such as merging punk, metal, rockabilly, hardcore, goth, and more into something that is uniquely them. Something we can see throughout this track.
Tonally, the song is sharp, reminding me of peppermint and chilli as it slices through with clean, assertive energy, but leaves a lingering coolness in its emotional aftermath. With ‘Into the Arms of Oblivion’ set for release on May 30th, 2025, The Wrath prove once again that their fire hasn’t dimmed.
