Adelaide-based Metalcore/Hardcore collective SØRRØWSTATE have just dropped their second ever single, and it is a total heavy banger!

Taking inspiration from the instrumental energy and chaos of bands like Pincer+, Diesect and Alpha Wolf, ‘Rot With Me’ is absolutely explosive and a total sonic assault.

Describing themselves as “the embodiment of suffering”, SØRRØWSTATE are a total breath of fresh air in the Aussie Metalcore scene. These guys are absolutely not afraid to bare their teeth and have come onto the scene with full force.

Consisting of vocalist Shane Burford, guitarists Austin Zrim & Daniel Stocco, bassist Connor Husker and drummer Dylan Deroussent, SØRRØWSTATE are definitely ones to keep watch of!

'Rot With Me' is a testament to SØRRØWSTATE's vision. Grinding razor-sharp riffs tinged with electronic and industrial elements, as well as pummeling drums, give body to the track, with an unexpected bass-heavy trap-style breakdown towards the later half of the song.

This moment then leads into another, even heavier, breakdown that is absolutely brutal, slow, punishing and heavy as fuck. I thought that this was a super cool sonic choice and was definitely an unexpected move that elevated the track.

Lyrically, SØRRØWSTATE deal with themes of grief, loss, and self-worth throughout their songs. 'Rot With Me' features poignant lines about betrayal like "This is for every lie that came from a smile/ I remember every single one". I really loved the vocal delivery throughout this song, and thought that the dynamic vocals really enhanced the emotion and mood in this one.

Only Being SØRRØWSTATE's second ever track, and first drop of 2026, I was super impressed and will definitely be looking forward to what these guys will be doing in the future!
