Abba, ghost, sabaton and Avicii only four of a long list of worldwide music super stars that Sweden have produced over the years. now once again, A star emerges from Sweden this time sporting the name Chasing penguins, bringing with them a spine-chilling melody's that in their own words "is the anthem of the summer for anyone who's going to spend it crying in their car in a parking lot".
Curtain call
First spotted in Kalmar, Sweden 5-piece band, chasing penguins combines upbeat instrumentals with haunting lyrics to create hypnotic tracks which gnaw at your skull until you sing along.

even as someone with a wide range of musical gernes I listen to regularly Before this I had never heard of pop-punk or easy-core. this though has quickly changed, with this band and others joining my favourite band list because of this track. setting the stage with an undeniably heavy atmosphere, Curtain call from start to finish is imbued with a deeper message about Mental health struggles and the chaos of it all. I found the lyric "OR AM I MORE THAN WHAT THEY SAY" IN PARTICULAR shows THIS, REFLECTING ON THE IDEA that, other's words and views can weigh down our own impression of ourselves. The message doesn't stop there though as using vocals to express this isn't enough for chasing penguins, with the emotionally charged instrumentals reflecting this interestingly creates a perfect juxtaposition where the punk-pop sound of the instrumentals and deeper message mix. this though works, creating a bright beat that works well with the vocals while still has the intended emotional impact on the listener. TO sum up Chasing penguins new single curtain call it's a hard hitting, meaningful, unique track that will either have you in tears or singing along, no in-betweens.
