South Australian heavy-hitters Seek Misery are back with their darkest, heaviest and most experimental track yet.

‘Flesh and Rust’ carries the essence forged in the band’s previous releases, yet introduces a reinvigorated sound that blends elements of metalcore and deathcore with nu-metal influences.

The track opens with Melodic guitar riffs which come to the forefront throughout the song, over the crushing brutality. These two contrasting elements work together to craft an atmosphere that is haunting and at times eerily chilling.

Bass player David McArthur writes that the concept for 'Flesh and Rust' was formed by drawing “thematic influence from retro survival horror gaming, particularly Silent Hill”.

Emotive lyrics like:

"As these walls decay To flesh and rust Twisted and contorted Past memories fade to dust"

enhance the sombre and emotionally-charged tone of the track .

‘Flesh and Rust’ is accompanied by a music video that encapsulates those early 2000's survival horror game vibes through cinematography and references to retro gaming consoles. You can check it out below!

The contrast between the dark, haunting atmosphere and heavy, chilling brutality of this track made it an impactful listen for sure. With this new dynamic and experimental direction Seek Misery are taking, I will absolutely be anticipating what they will release in the future!

This one is definitely for fans of Emmure, The Acacia Strain, and Alpha Wolf!

Seek Misery will be playing at The Adelaide Uni Bar on September 12th alongside an amazing lineup of Aussie talent as part of 'SOUTHERN DEATH FEST II PRE-DLC'. Tickets are still available and can be grabbed here!
