Japan-based metalcore band Prompts have just dropped their hectic new single "Deceiver", a track that is pure chaotic energy and a total sonic assault (in the best way!)

'Deceiver' is unapologetically ferocious right from the start. Pushing the boundaries of genre and convention, this track is infused with nu-metal, deathcore and mathcore influences to create a heavy yet experimental sound.

Brutal riffs, layered gutturals, distorted sounds and eclectic rhythms create a cacophony of chaos which breathes life into the track.

Halfway through 'Deceiver', the heaviness is cut by a moment of airy and ethereal melodic vocals, with an instrumental that provides an extra layer of depth and emotion to the song. This moment highlights Prompts unique sound and ability to traverse the idea of genre by breaking through contemporary boundaries.

Exploring “the internal conflict between staying true to yourself and conforming to society’s idea of what’s 'normal'”, this track is authentic and self-assuring. With the band consisting of members from both Japan and South Korea, their individual styles and influences really shine in this song.

Having just joined Parkway Drive as the main support in Tokyo, Prompts are rising stars in the Japanese metalcore scene and definitely ones to keep an eye on!

Fans of bands like Architects, Paledusk and The Plot In You will want to check these guys out for sure.
