Updated: 23 hours ago
you heard that right. a double single and an album announcement!
their new album 'zero' hits all streaming platforms on Friday the 19th of February.
Yeah there's a bit of a wait but we got 2 tracks and maybe more on the way to enjoy while we wait.
the two tracks related today are called 'blye hour' and 'was it ever enough?'
"'Blue Hour' begins at dusk–it’s the boldest sonic step in One Step Closer’s career so far and it explodes into a raucous climax as the band plays on a homemade skate ramp with friends providing DIY pyrotechnics in the form of fireworks and lighter + aerosol can combinations. It’s the perfect mix of "do not try this at home
'was i ever enough' has that classic one step closer post-hardcore sound. it's so catchy! This is going to be one where the crowd sings louder!
Let's talk about the album.
zero follows their last album, 'you all embrace' released in '24 which revieved some love from sterogum, flood magazine and uproxx.
The album was recorded by Jon Markson who has worked alongside some major names like The Story So Far.
vocalist Ryan Stavistki is showcasing this new roar in zero.
There’s so much desperation on this record but I think people can relate to that–these songs will always mean something different to me than everyone else, no one is living the same exact experiences, but I want people to take these songs and mold them to fit their own - ryan stavistki
here's a new one. they're describing this album as 'older brother music' taking inspiration from the guitarist Ross Thompson printing mapquest directions to a VFW show. it's giving limewire, burnt cds and myspace.
zero will have 10 tracks total and again.. the release date in february 19th 2027. If you haven't heard of one step closer (crazy work) but you're a lover of millennial emo rawr vibes. this is your next rotation.... well.. double rotation.
