Finnish melodic death metal icons MORS PRINCIPIUM EST have just released "Monuments", an imposing and ethereal new single from their upcoming album "Darkness Invisible".

"Monuments" is poignant right from the very first note, with powerful melodic technical riffs and orchestral arrangements that are tinged by melancholy, working as a whole to elevate the track.

Lyrically, "Monuments" paints a landscape ravaged by pain, war, death and darkness. Soaring guitar solos and symphonic strings give a fantasy inspired feel to the track, making it easy enough to close your eyes and imagine you are standing amidst a desolate battlefield.

Frontman Ville Viljanen’s harsh vocals deliver a striking contrast to the intricate harmonies and instrumentals, creating an atmospheric dichotomy between heaviness and complexity that is emotionally dynamic and potent to listeners.

The musical technicality of "Monuments" made it an absolutely beautiful and impactful listen, with the anthemic and majestic chorus being a personal highlight of the track for me. I'll definitely be looking forward to listening to the new album upon release, and I have high hopes for what the band will bring forth musically and technically!

"Darkness Invisible", MORS PRINCIPIUM EST’S long awaited ninth album, is due to be released on September 26th through their new label home PERCEPTION. You can pre-order and pre-save the new album by clicking here.
