MARCH MADNESS: top 3 bands starting with 'm' YOU should be listening to

As march draws to a close bringing with it many bands, who as of this month have released even more singles, albums and ep’s i wanted to note my top 3 bands starting with 'm' that YOU should be listening too.

Number 3: Miss May I

While Miss May I may be one of the oldest band on this list they still pack a punch, blowing me away with their melodic tracks. Created in 2006 in Troy, Ohio. Miss May I are a metal band who over the years, have created several albums. The music from said albums are breath taking frequently utilising techniques like 'builds and releases' to create tracks similar to classic metal bands while still keeping what makes their band unique. As of now, unfortunately no tracks have won any awards, instead several songs have featured in movies and video games, like Forgive and Forget in Saw VI and Apologies are for the weak in Saints Row: the third.

Number 2: Melrose Avenue

Taking my second place this month, Melrose Avenue comes in bringing with it their unique sound. founded in Sydney in 2021, Melrose Avenue is a band that meshes modern metal with the softer features of pop. This has created a unique style of music that is reminiscent of classic pop boy band vocals with modern nu-metal instrumentals. Their brand new single, BodyBag (a personal favourite of mine) is perfect for creating a lively atmosphere with its strong electrifying guitar riffs and vocals that transform with each section of the song going from metal to pop then back. This track is guaranteed to create chills along the likes of your own and others spines.


Finally taking my top spot this month is Motionless In White, one of my all time favourite artists and in my opinion a band that should be experienced by all. Originating in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Motionless In White hit the metal music scene for the first time in 2004. This group quickly captivated their audiences with their Mix match of Gothic, industrial and classic metal creating a true Masterpiece in band form. A favourite song of mine has to be Sign Of Life, mixing together the almost constant steady beat of the drums and guitar with Chris motionless’s vocal range creates an unbelievable track.
