After more than a decade away from the touring spotlight, the revered Iron Mind are finally back with a vengeance. They’ve just announced their first headline tour since 2014, and it’s in support of their brand-new record, “Test Of The Iron Mind”, dropping June 13 through Last Ride Records and Flatspot Records.

This tour is a pretty big deal. Not only is it their first proper national run in 11 years, but it also marks a real return to form for the band after keeping things low-key for quite a while.
Joining them on the road are two serious forces in Australian hardcore. The Chain, hardcore outfit out of Perth and Melbourne’s own Horsepower. Both of whom are igniting force throughout the scene.

Along with this a solid rotation of local acts at each stop. The shows will hit major cities across Australia and Aotearoa, New Zealand, with a mix of 18+ and all ages venues to make sure fans of all generations can catch them live.
To go along with the tour, Iron Mind have released the album’s title track, “Test Of The Iron Mind”. Vocalist Sam Octigan explained that the track is a reflection on where the band started and how they’ve evolved. He mentions it actually ties back to their 2008 song “The Iron Mind”. This new version isn’t just a callback, however, it’s a progression. As Octigan put it, the challenges may stay the same, but now the band has better tools to deal with them.

Iron Mind made their mark in the late 2000s with "The Sun Has Set and Hell Split Wide Open", later dropping their self-titled LP via Flatspot in 2014. Known for explosive live shows and tours with heavyweights like Turnstile and Terror.
The tour kicks off in Brisbane on June 13, the same day Test Of The Iron Mind drops, and wraps up in Auckland a month later. Along the way, Iron Mind will hit cities across Australia and New Zealand, including headline sets at Burning Hammer Records and Last Ride Records showcases in Brisbane and Newcastle. With stacked lineups, packed venues, and what’s shaping up to be their biggest tour yet, this run is a clear reminder of why Iron Mind remain such a vital force in Australian hardcore.
