Post hardcore veterans I Prevail continue to tease their highly-anticipated album Violent Nature, returning with the yet-to-be released record’s fourth single “Annihilate Me”, alongside a lyric video, out now on YouTube. This comes after the release of their explosive last three singles “Rain”, “Into Hell” and title track “Violent Nature”, all via Fearless Records.
Frontman and vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe wears his heart on his sleeve with each lyric of the slow-burning, powerfully cathartic track. “Come nail me to my throne / Annihilate me”.
Vanlerberghe had this to say about the song; “Annihilate Me feels like one of the most I Prevail songs on the album. It’s about opening yourself up over and over again only to keep getting cut down, but regardless of how many times you’ve been pushed down you’re to push yourself further - even if that means your own annihilation.”
“While writing some of these songs,” Vanlerberghe says, “some things did click for me, and with some relationships I was able to find peace with how things were left, or how things are or how things were. It was helpful for me writing these songs to get through some of that stuff, but there [are] also some songs that I go back and listen to now, and I really begin to think and re-engage how I thought of those relationships. It was extremely cathartic, and I still relate to them, and it still helps me. I really hope this record has that same sort of effect for others who may be needing to feel those things or get through some of these things themselves.”

Violent Nature is a fresh new chapter for the band, being the first record since the departure of clean vocalist and founding member Brian Burkheiser, with Vanlerberghe impressively tackling both the heavy and clean vocals on the ten track LP.
Violent Nature was recorded in two stints - back in December last year and in February this year at Blackbird Studios in Nashville,; entirely produced by I Prevail’s own bassist and keyboardist Jon Eberhard, who Joined the band in 2023. Eberhard’s work on albums TRAUMA and TRUE POWER appraised him to be the perfect choice as producer of Violent Nature - a decision i can imagine came easily to the rest of the band.
“I think he sees the vision clearer than any other producer could,” Vanlerberghe states, “because he's just living it with us.”
This is also the first time, the frontman says, that the band have made a record in a professional studio “after ten years of doing it in basically in a garage or a basement.”

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, I Prevail debuted in 2014 with their iconic EP Heart vs Mind, rising to fame with their cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” (single version), which went on to get certified platinum in the US.
Now two-time GRAMMY-nominated with three successful LPs; Lifelines (2016), TRAUMA (2019) and TRUE POWER (2022), I Prevail are set to play later this year at Louder Than Life in Kentucky, as well as at When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas.
You can pre-order a variety of merchandise and bundles, including a wide array of exclusive Violent Nature pressed vinyls to collect across the Artist First store, JB Hi-Fi and the official I Prevail merch store, respectively.
vIOLENT NATURE IS SET TO RELEASE sEPTEMBER 19TH VIA FEARLESS RECORDS.
