HELLBOUND BREAK DOWN: WINDWAKER

WINDWAKER formed in 2014 in WAGGA Wagga, NSW, finding inspiration from the 2002 the legend of Zelda game, the wind waker. the band made a move to melbourne in 2015 and the rest is, as they say, history. windwaker has been climbing the Australian metalcore stage since,

performing at festivals including bigsound 2018, download 2018, good things 2019, unify 2020 and knotfest 2024.


now that the introductions are out of the way, let's run through windwaker's discography to date. windwaker's musical debut appeared in the form of a five song ep under the title 'fade' in 2017. 2019 saw the release of their second, six song, ep 'empire', with 'superstitious fantasy' 2022 the next ep to make it onto the scene.

2024 was a busy year for WINDWAKER with the release of three eps 'enter the wall', 'break the rules' and 'get out'.


2022 also showcased windwaker's first full length album, with the debut of 'love language'. along with the three ep releases, 2024 came with the monster unveiling of full length album 'hyperviolence', and an apra music awards 2025 nomination for their single 'sirens' under the most performed heavy rock / heavy metal work category. WINDWAKER went head to head

with fellow hellbound performers, make them suffer (the ultimate winners of the award), northlane, Polaris and Sydney hardcore punk band, speed.


while WINDWAKER has no announced tour dates at the present time, besides hellbound, however, you can keep an eye out for updates on their website where you can also find merchandise, autographed CDs and vinyls.
