Alright emos, grab your eyeliner and tissues because Hawthorne Heights are bringing the nostalgia down under next April for the 20th anniversary of their iconic album If Only You Were Lonely.
That’s right, the Ohio legends are heading back to Australia in April 2026, and they’re not coming alone. Joining them for the ride are New Jersey post-hardcore heroes Armor For Sleep, making this a full blown celebration of the golden era of mid 2000s emo.
The five date run kicks off Wednesday, April 22 at Magnet House in Perth before rolling through Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney, then wrapping up Tuesday, April 28 at The Brightside Outdoors in Brisbane.
For anyone who grew up screaming “Saying Sorry” at the top of their lungs or crying over “This Is Who We Are,” this one’s for you. If Only You Were Lonely dropped in 2006 and quickly became one of the defining albums of the genre, heartfelt lyrics, crunchy riffs, and enough angst to last a lifetime. It’s wild to think it’s been two decades since it came out, but somehow, the songs still hit like day one.
Through label drama, lineup changes, and some heartbreaking losses, Hawthorne Heights have never let up. They’ve built a career on pure emotion and resilience, proof that emo never really dies, it just evolves.
And then there’s Armor For Sleep, another band that
helped shape a generation. Formed in 2001, they gave us concept driven masterpieces like Dream to Make Believe and What to Do When You Are Dead before taking a long break and making a massive comeback with The Rain Museum in 2022. Now they’re returning with a new album, There Is No Memory, out November 7 via Equal Vision/Civilians, produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, The Devil Wears Prada, Between You and Me). Expect all the feels and a few existential crises in between.
This tour isn’t just a throwback, it’s a celebration of survival, growth, and the community that’s kept this scene alive for 20 years. Both bands have been through hell and back, and now they’re standing side by side, reminding us why emo still matters.
