Albury melodic deathcore band Arkángel are back and you are not prepared for this one. "After making an explosive entrance with their self-titled debut EP, Arkángel have racked up over 250,000 streams across all

ree

major platforms—proving they’re not just another heavy band, but a rising force to be reckoned with." While the song has everything

you will be expecting from an arkángel song with crushing guitars, blasting drums, forceful and dynamic vocals and theatrical nature that pull it all together; but now, we are treated with the addition of misstiq's angelic vocals and keyboard. Jake and misstiq's voice are an unholy union that flows together and compliments each other in such a beautiful way that it makes me wish that

ree

misstiq was a permanent member of the band. I wasn't sure what I would be coming into with this single but I am definitely not mad about it. it is heavy. it is catchy. it is addictive. with hauntingly (pun only somewhat intended) beautiful lyrics you will find yourself entrapped and not wanting to leave.

Out of site not out of mind, I’ll never change, I’ll never hide, I couldn’t see what’s in front of me, It’s haunting my dreams, Why's hope so hard to find, In this nightmare I cannot hide, My mind breaking at the seems, I've shattered my dreams

"“Haunting My Dreams” marks a powerful new chapter for the band, written in the wake of their self-titled EP and signaling a bold evolution in sound. Teaming up with ARIA-nominated producer and songwriter Callan Orr, the track pushes boundaries with a gripping blend of metalcore and deathcore,

ree

further elevated by a fierce feature from genre-bending artist Misstiq. At its core, the song is a raw and personal reflection on being trapped in the darkest parts of the mind — a time when escape felt impossible. Emotionally charged and sonically relentless, Haunting My Dreams is both a cathartic release and a fearless step forward."

I urge you to take the time to watch the official music video as it is honestly a thing of beauty. Starting with Jake sitting on the floor surrounded by padded walls and in a straight jacket, it immediately sets the tonne for the what the song is. the use of misstiq in the room as a memory of the connection lost is such an effortless portrayal and the subtle touches of her hands says so much. arkángel continues to surprise me with their level of talent. if they are this good now, I can't wait to see them in five years time when they have accrued the following they deserve.

Shadows deep, Where whispers crawl, A prison built, From my own downfall, Thoughts collide, a vicious storm,In this chamber, I am reborn. This pain, Won’t end
