BIGSOUND is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026! If you're wondering what BIGSOUND is, it's one of Australia's biggest weeks in music and one of the largest music industry events in the Southern Hemisphere. Produced by QMusic, Queensland's not-for-profit music industry peak body, the event has called Magandjin (Brisbane) home for the past 25 years, connecting artists with the people who help shape their careers.
Across four days and three nights, BIGSOUND delivers artist showcases, networking opportunities, professional development and industry discussions. Managers, labels, booking agents, artists and music professionals from around Australia and internationally come together to build connections, discover new talent and shape the future of the industry.
BIGSOUND has helped launch the careers of some of Australia's biggest artists, including Flume, Tash Sultana, Tones And I and Courtney Barnett.
This year, BIGSOUND has unveiled its new 2026 Ideas & Innovation Hub. The dedicated conference space will bring together educators, technology leaders and government stakeholders to explore new ideas and discuss the future of the Australian music industry.
The technology stream is co-programmed by CAST (Centre for Arts, Sport and Technology), an organisation that connects entertainment companies with emerging technologies. Meanwhile, the education stream welcomes a new partnership with AMPLIFY Music Education, delivering a program focused on supporting educators as part of the wider music industry.

If you're looking to discover your next favourite artist, this is the place to do it. Some of my must-see acts this year include Pretty Bleak from Melbourne and Night Dive from Newcastle. You can check out the full showcase lineup HERE.
If you're a music industry professional, BIGSOUND 2026 is an event you won't want to miss. Alongside hundreds of emerging artists, you'll hear from an incredible lineup of industry professionals, featuring both homegrown Australian talent and international guests. Check out the full conference speaker lineup HERE.
It's safe to say this year's conference program is shaping up to be packed with insightful conversations and inspiring speakers. But of course, the music showcases remain one of the biggest highlights of BIGSOUND. Emerging artists and industry professionals, this is your calling to attend BIGSOUND this year!
