Are you into punk and thrash? Metal and rock? With a mix of doom added in? Then you’ve found your new favourite band in Beast Machine.
Their single ‘Bombs Away’ opens with electrifying guitar and screams to match. This is the kind of song I would put on my playlist if I went to a rage room and wanted to pump myself up. This is the perfect ‘thrashing around in the mosh pit’ kind of song.
Beast Machine are a duo from the East coast of Australia and their music has been “likened to a fight between Kyuss, High on Fire and Slayer”, (as quoted on their Spotify bio). Beast Machine have really brought the energy with this song and it takes only five seconds until we’re met with the intense opening lyrics of “waste of time!” Electric guitar brings in beautiful, melodic breaks between the vocals. The drums in this song provide us with a beat that you can easily head bang to throughout the song. Overall, the song is as fun as it is heavy.

The band formed almost ten years ago and since then they’ve released two EP’s and a full-length album independently. They’ve toured through the United States twice and will be touring there once again in September 2025. The band are currently performing their ‘While It All Burns’ EP launch shows around Australia, including venues in Lismore and Brisbane. Heavy mag described their live shows as having “fire and venom” that course through their performances. 'Bombs Away' is sure to be an incredible addition to their setlist for these shows.
The vocals throughout the song are both gritty and guttural. Leading up the ending of the song you’ll hear the drums, guitar and vocals all intensify. This won’t prepare you for the instant fade and the sound of a bomb exploding that bring this track to a sudden end. The ending has you going “let me hear that one again”. Beast Machine have skilfully mixed a range of music genres in this track to create an absolute head banger of a song. ‘Bombs Away’ is sure to be both an electrifying listen and a dynamic live performance song.
