BAD OMENS SPECTER DROP

bad Omens have been teasing their fan base for weeks after wiping their Instagram clean on the 26th of July. Following a series of shorts featuring Ryan hurst, the metalcore powerhouse has released 'specter' via sumerian records.

"Do you feel love? Because I know I don't. with no one to hold. Do you feel love?" I sat at my laptop at 9:58am with the YouTube video on full screen, headphones on to fully immerse myself in the experience that I knew was coming. As I sat and waited the screen changed to a countdown. As I watched the shifting landscapes with every 10 seconds that passed I could feel the tension and excitement building, Previously having watched the chat move so quickly that I couldn't even read the names I knew I wasn't alone in this.

"I've kept my distance, it just made it worse, but I've learned to live with how it hurts" I knew coming into this song that the story was going to be heartbreaking, but I don't think I was quite as prepared as I thought I was, or needed to be.
You will be drawn in from the beginning with the subtle and rhythmic piano pulling you in, leading you by your hand. The song ebs and flows through points of synth giving the now iconic flavour that is bad omens, while still leaving room to breath for the story telling and something new and interesting. "i've learned to live with how it hurts."

It has honestly been so interesting to see how noah's voice has changed and grown throughout the years. this song shows his wide range of clean vocals, expression and tonality, until changing it up and hitting you with
"hurts" while using a distressed and pained scream before throwing you into a classic bad omens electronic break down. This scream in particular is where I think I was unprepared, it hits down to your very soul. or maybe it is just the expression in it that hits so hard. all in all this song has great potential to be my new favourite Bad omens song, which is a rather large feat if I am honest. "like a specter, and your headlights on the road"
