Bad Juju’s latest single ‘Simulacra’ sounds like it is straight from the soundtrack of ‘The Matrix’; it is raw, angsty and just the right amount of those edgy early 2000's vibes.

‘Simulacra’ is a testament to the Melbourne-based alt-rockers unique sound which mixes elements of 90s grunge, industrial cyber elements, melodic vocals that are influenced by early 2000's nu-metal and evocative modern hardcore breakdowns.

Thematically and lyrically, ‘Simulacra’ explores the concept of simulation and was inspired by the idea of “the line between reality and the imitation of reality becoming more blurry every day”. This subject matter really resonated with me, as did the overarching atmosphere of the track as a whole.

I really loved the early 2000's sound of this track and how it instantly transported me somewhere between wanting to headbang or wanting to take a moment to reflect. Fans of bands like Linkin Park, Incubus and Korn will absolutely love this one!

Bad Juju have announced that their upcoming EP of the same name will be released on October 24th and it will be produced by Jack Newlyn (Between You & Me, Belle Haven) and mixed by Sam Bassal (Ocean Grove). I will definitely be looking foward to hearing more of Bad Juju's reinvigorated darker and grungier new sound!

‘Simulacra' the EP will delve into ideas and themes such as “the distortion of reality in the digital age” and “the struggle to find authenticity in a world of artificial narratives”. You can pre-order the EP by clicking here!
