Babymetal's new Album metal forth is dropping August 8th 2025 and they've been teasing fans with epic singles from the collaboration-packed album for months now. The album features artists such as poppy, bloodywood, electric callboy and spiritbox. Tracks such as 'RATATATA' and 'from me to you' have already received overwhelming positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Let's take a listen to song 3 and see if it delivers the same dopamine-inducing feeling as the albums previous releases....

Distorted electric guitar, rapid drumming and screams... yep it's another fast-paced, adrenaline pumping babymetal track. As the intro drops the music video shows a young Alex Terrible sitting at a desk, wearing a classic slaughter-style mask. When he looks up from his desk he's in a glass box and babymetal are outside screaming and dancing with a countdown of 3, 2, 1 looming behind them. We've been told that the music video follows the young Alex Terrible's journey from being outcast and bullied to becoming a "force capable of confronting his past", with the support of babymetal. Verse 1 is rhythmic and repetitive with the girls repeating phrases while Terrible's screams are injected into the track. There are two contrasts throughout the track - hard and clean vocals as well as a mix of Japanese vs Russian lyrics. The chorus is high-impact and high-energy with a classic babymetal high-pitch vocal range.

As we move along the track we see Alex in a corporate role, slowly building in rage and frustration. The elevator goes up showing "1, 2, 3" - a visual representation of heightening tension. As Alex comes in, the track erupts into throaty, guttural screams. Alex tears up the office as red infiltrates the lighting in the room. The rage, the roars and the raw intensity all add an amazing edge to the track.

The final chorus is the soundtrack for Alex's victory over the demons he faced in the past. He lets out a roar that knocks over his enemies and babymetal are there to count "1, 2, 3" and announce the K.O. The repetitiveness of the counting adds to the sense that the song is building throughout.

Metal forth means "beyond metal". which is incredibly suitable for this album as we've seen babymetal push the limits with their collaborations and extend their sound beyond the metal sub-genres they've tried before. Babymetal formed in 2010 and have been collecting collaborations like Pokémon cards ever since. Metal forth will be their 5th studio album and biggest release yet. After performing at Knotfest 2025 in Australia the band have been busy with the babymetal world tour, currently hitting Europe and then on to the US.
