all the way in southern california hosts a mathcore quintet called the arson choir.

bringing together nostalgic sounds and modern metal spice, they create this unique sound that is sure to get that arse shaking.

you get instantly thrown in. it's chaos from start to finish which ties well with the actual meaning behind the song.

There's a thousand terrible things but you will always have time to change it around. i feel like hot and heavy as a platform is kind of built on that. i love when artist tie motivational messages with the music, showcasing the pure raw aggression. i don't know... to me it makes it easier to dissect.

vocalist phil penegar sat down with Ghostcult Mag to share the inspo behind the track.

This song was born out of the self-talk that walks alongside everyone—the intrusive thoughts that break your concentration to tear down your endeavors.

the lyrics glase over the 'what ifs'. there's always that little voice in your heard or the angel and devil on the shoulder that i rave on about.

what if you destroy everything that you blind?

what if you turn out to be just like him?

what if you spiral out of control?

what if the ones you love don't love you back?

the direction shifts.

To carry on in spite of those voices is a celebration. Cheer the small victories on the way to your goals. Shitty circumstances can be the soil for great art."

it's not the end.

you've still got time left.

you plant the seeds.

you reap the rewards.

it takes hard work always moving foward.

don't give up now.

this tells a story. a personal story about serious growth and strength within ones self. a story i love to hear. i know alot of you do too.

'a thousand terrible things' is streaming now across all platforms.
