Newcastle locals Maple's pet dinosaur is getting ready to warm up the crowd at Good Things Festival next week at only 15 years old. They dropped their newest single, 'Chorus' this week, and it's a grungy, alt-rock anthem!

The song is relatable, infectious and in Maple's own words, 'an ode to a love story gone wrong'. The guitar is gritty, distorted and 'not forgettable' in the slightest, and the vocals are so clean and of a level it's hard to believe a 15-year-old singing! And let's not forget the bridge - I have no doubt the crowd will be screaming back the lyrics when it's performed live next week. Now, some credit has to be given to the incredible Declan White (Thornhill, Ocean Grove) for mixing the song, because it really is mwah chef's kiss.

Mapel's Pet Dinosaur is relatively new to the scene, with their first single 'Lego' dropping in August of this year. Mapel and her band quickly rose to fame after going viral for their D.I.Y. Music video - filmed on their neighbours' ring doorbell. The video quickly got the attention - and hearts - of people in the scene, including Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) and Natalie Imbrulia. As of writing this, no video has dropped for Chorus yet, but it's safe to say it will be equally unexpected and, hopefully, with the same '90s Nostalgic feel.
