Loose Surface has returned with a slow-build rock song that grows into a thrashing, head-banging full band sound that Loose Surface is becoming known for.

Lyricist and vocalist, Micah, brings a soothing and sultry vocal tone, drawing listeners into the song, her voice hypnotising and warm with a sinister edge.

Similar to Loose Surfaces’ previous release ‘Pulp’ Micah’s lyrics have a focus on a seeming loss of control despite desperate attempts to regain it.

There’s a theme of consumption and animalistic violence that accompanies the bands clearer message for the song to ‘capture the moment right before you snap’ and a ‘massive f*ck you to anyone who tipped us over the edge’.

As compared to previous tracks from Loose Surface, ‘Full of Shit’ is dirtier in the best way, grime-y, grinding, and heavy particularly aided by a strong focus on the bassline of Tom and a deeper sound from Liam on the drums.

Liam’s drums fuel the ‘moment before the snap’, a war-drum like rhythm builds an incredible tension that is ultimately released with a searing guitar solo from the lead guitarist that is clean, captivating, and brings the song to a whole new level.

It appears to be a key-part of a great Loose Surface song and is quickly becoming their signature.

Both lyrically and sonically the song ends where it begins with the lyrics, ‘If I sink my teeth in deeper’, and the band’s stripped back and simple sound behind Micah’s vocals.

However, where it was once the tension building drums and bassline it has shifted to the gritty guitar riff that has repeated throughout the track. This slightly softer yet familiar sound gives the song a cyclical feeling, like we could do it all again, but we’ve changed in the process.

Loose Surface have proven themselves as excellent storytellers, performers, and an all round good time. ‘Full of Shit’ is just another hit for this growing band who seem ready to embrace any challenge and willing to bite back at any who doubts otherwise.
