Hole Release "Teenage Whore" On Streaming Services, & Albums Being Reissued On Vinyl
Last week, Hole released their original three track "Teenage Whore" single on streaming services for the first time ever, and it is absolutely everything that die hard fans have been hungry for.
Consisting of “Teenage Whore”, “Burn Black” and “Drown Soda”, the titular track was originally released in 1991 and was the opening song of Hole’s debut album Pretty On The Inside.
Unabashedly angry and vulnerable, "Teenage Whore" is one of my all time favourite Hole tracks, with Courtney Love’s strained relationship with her mother being a main theme throughout the song.
“Burn Black” and “Drown Soda” were both previously unreleased until now, and it was so cool to be able to listen to them for the first time. Both tracks are gorgeous displays of Love’s signature snarling vocals and introspective lyricism, as well as Hole’s viscerally raw early sound.
With their first three albums also being reissued on vinyl this month (which you can grab via this link here), a part of me is hoping and silently praying that this could be a sign of future music to come or even a reunion show on the horizon...
With nothing confirmed yet though, I’ll keep my dream of seeing Hole live in Australia one day on the back-burner for now... ♡
