hellbound cruise info to know!

aye aye, this is your on board journalist speaking!

we're counting down the days until our long-awaited hellbound cruise. with less than 20 days to go, our sea legs are already shaking with excitement!

if you're anything like me and haven't been on a cruise before, or a seriously anxious planner... this blog is my gift to help you feel just that little bit more prepared. lets dive in! (to the sirenity pool)

there are 2 mobile apps i recommend you download before setting sail.

1) the hellbound cruise app.

this app is very similarly structured to the good things & knotfest apps. you are able to save the artists you want to see and will be notified with the set times when they become available. this app works without internet connection just like the other festival apps!

2) the carnival hub app.

this is how you will link your booking to the cruise and be able to purchase wifi, drink packages, in-room accessories, dining experiences and so much more!

you will need this app to complete your online check in within 14 days before the cruise.

once you've downloaded the app, you will need to log in or create an account if you're a new cruiser. you will need to use your booking reference number to link the hellbound cruise to your account. this can be found on your personal hellbound customer portal, where you managed your payment plan.

from personal experience, i had to use my "cruise line booking reference" not the "booking id"

if your booking reference is yet to be confirmed, don't panic! it will be available asap, but for the peace of mind don't hesitate to contact carnival for assistance.

dining!

you will be fed on the cruise. your booking includes a set time to attend the main dining area and you can visit the buffet at anytime.

in addition to your included dining options, there is also a free pizza parlour open day & night onboard. a pop-punk kids dream!

speaking of free... did i mention the free soft serve ice cream on deck 9? that's right, you can also find free water and complimentary beverage stations around the lido mainstage & buffet areas throughout the ship.

if you're feeling like splurging a little and taking your dining experience to the next level, check out the app to familiarise yourself with some of the incredible restaurants you can also book! these are paid restaurants.

the shows!

you will not need to purchase any extra tickets to see the bands as all artist performances are general admission & included in your booking. however, if you would like to attend some of the artist experiences, these additional events will be made available closer to the date with tickets to purchase.

the spectacular spectacular main lounge will be utilised for q&a and other onboard experiences.

"headline entertainment will be available on the top deck main stage in the day, with headliner performances scheduled nightly. the top deck provides general admission standing areas, a dancefloor/moshpit, and a mezzanine level for better viewing, ensuring an optimal concert at-sea experiences. there is also multiple venues around the ship which will also feature performances by other support acts throughout the voyage."

don't forget the other forms of entertainment on board as there is no shortage at all from put-put golf, waterslides, karaoke, casino, night club and so much more with endless fun!

how early should i arrive to the port?

bag drop will be available from 9am at the pier, so you are welcome to drop your bags and grab some breakfast or explore the local area of sydney!

you will be given a time slot for boarding once check in opens 14 days prior to departure. we of course recommend arriving early, you do not want to miss the ship!

departure time is approximately 3:30pm, do not arrive at this time as it will be too late.

what should i pack?!

this is the hard part.... i know we all want to pack our entire wardrobe and every accessory we own, but lets remember to be practical.

plan your outfits, think about your comfort, remember to get any medical scripts filled before the day!

if you know you get seasick, or you're not sure and worried about it - keep calm and head down to the chemist before boarding and grab yourself some tablets.

some things you will definitely need:

  • id

  • boarding pass

  • credit/debit card

  • universal power adaptor (if wanting more than 1 australian outlet per room)

  • toiletries

  • swimwear

  • sunnies and hat.

you cannot bring:

  • any illegal substances (including medical cannabis)

  • drones

  • fresh food or flowers

  • weapons

  • power boards

  • irons and hand steamers

if you require multiple device charging, i recommend swinging by kmart or jbhifi and picking up a multi-device outlet adapter, or check out this one i found on amazon!

if you've come this far and have any more questions, leave a comment on our social media post and we will do our best to give you an answer! otherwise, contact carnival here!
