Canberra’s own Hands Like Houses are stepping back into the spotlight with their latest single “Flowers” out now via Civilians. But this release is more than just another track to add to the playlist. It comes with real world action behind it. It hits home. Get ready.

“Flowers” taps into that low key burnout feeling we do not talk about enough. It is about being the person who keeps showing up, keeps holding everything together and quietly wonders if anyone even notices. It is not about chasing clout. It is about wanting someone to say, “Hey, I see you” - uuugh it’s like a punch to the gut. Too real!
Instead of letting the message live only in headphones, the band turned it into something bigger. Ahead of their upcoming Lótus Tour, they launched a nationwide call out inviting Australian artists to apply for opening spots in each city. No gatekeeping. No industry handshake required. Just talent and a shot.

With
Teaming up with post hardcore favourites Dream On Dreamer, the Lótus Tour is shaping up to be a heavyweight run across the country.
Tour Dates:
Thursday 16 April – The Baso, Canberra, ACT
Friday 17 April – Manning Bar, Sydney, NSW
Saturday 18 April – Princess Theatre, Brisbane, QLD
Sunday 19 April – Kings Beach Tav, Sunshine Coast, QLD
Thursday 23 April – Beer Deluxe, Albury, NSW
Friday 24 April – 170 Russell, Melbourne, VIC
Saturday 25 April – UniBar, Adelaide, SA
Sunday 26 April – Magnet House, Perth, WA
After a monster year that saw them land a #2 ARIA-charting album, a #4 ARIA deluxe release, and share stages with The Used and The Butterfly Effect, the band could have easily kept coasting on momentum. Instead, they are choosing to reinvest it back into the scene.
That is the energy here. Big stages, sure. But also space for local acts to stand on them.
Fifteen Years Deep and Still Moving
More than 15 years into their career, Hands Like Houses are not just surviving in Australia’s alternative space, they are evolving with it. With ARIA recognition, a triple j Feature Album, sold out national runs and over 280 million Spotify streams globally, their legacy is locked in.
But “Flowers” shows they are still paying attention to what matters. Community. Longevity. Lifting others while you climb.
And honestly? That is the kind of move that deserves its own flowers. “Thankyou Hands Like Houses” we say in unison.
“Flowers” is out now via Civilians and streaming everywhere. The Lótus Tour kicks off in April, with tickets available now at handslikehouses.live.
If you have been waiting for a sign to lock in your next gig, this might be it.
