gold coast/Brisbane based band Insect have released a two-track called 'neanderthal'. the four piece heavy band from Queensland

Australia is known for their combining caveman riffs, hard vocals & primal rhythms. insect debuted onto the scene in 2021 with their single "horde' and have since released their ep 'runt of the litter' along with several singles.

first up is 'Vermin' Featuring Beau Frizzell of

ree

Toowoomba band, deep Leech. Vermin is a stomp anthem if I ever heard one. Do you have some feelings of coming to the end of your rope, and being done with people's s**t? then this is definitely the song for you. "you motherf**kers always test my patience". The song begins with heavy weighted guitars, tension building drums and the

growling line of "they will try to tear you apart". it is stifling and inescapable. As you move through the song you unravel quickly into the feeling of owning the turmoil and just going with it, having some respect for yourself and treating those as you have been treated. "We're all out of mercy, no patience, no mercy".

the second release is 'Neanderthal' Featuring Aiden Duke of Southport band, Deathrow. While this song is only 51 seconds long, it hits so hard and was my instant new favourite insect song. "just another soft c**t, acting like a real man". The matching blegh style singing with the screeching guitars was perfection in song creation in my opinion. This song is going to go crazy in a pit environment and I personally can't wait to see it. The drum beat is very primal and gives the impression of "ug" smashing his club on a drum, just waiting to drag you back to his cave. "Neanderthal".

insect have launched their third music video

in the form of vermin featuring toowoomba vocalist beau frizzell. the use of tight spacing and jarring and erratic camera movements makes you feel the heaviness of the lyrics and overall tonne of the song.
