It’s not often that you envisage a love song when you think about ALT-metal music, but the latest release from Lives Lost, entitled ‘Found’, will help you to reimagine how love songs fit into the genre. Teaming up with Sleeping with Siren’s front man, Kellin Quinn, this new track is raw and passionate. It’s beautifully soft in its lyrics, but immensely powerful in its instrumentals and vocals. If you’ve listened to ‘If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn’, you’ll know that Quinn is the perfect person to call to add the romance into a song. Paired with the contrasting style of lives lost vocalist Tanis Pellegrini, it's a dynamic mix of vocal range and texture . With enchanting lyrics, an unforgettable chorus and a mix of clean vocals and screams this song is a magnificent listen from start to finish.

The lyrics in this track are hauntingly beautiful, including “my heart beats for you” and “I will always love you, until my dying breath”. Quinn’s voice set against Pellegrini’s hard vocals adds even more depth to the lyrics. There is both softness and passion in the track and this resonates out with every sentence sung. The band has stated that ‘Found’ centres around the path to finding love and self-awareness after struggles experienced in our past. The song is a “deeply personal song for me” said Pellegrini, who wrote the song about the love he has for his wife. He stated that he and his wife found each other “despite the heartache we both experienced in our home lives growing up”. The passion and pain are both evident throughout this track.

The first verse dives straight in with the words “Never knew someone could see my bitterness; seen the pain, the tears I’ve cried, stand by my side”, setting us up for the storyline of the track. The vocals are clear and clean, allowing us to hear the tension behind the lyrics. The music softens pre-chorus allowing for the softly spoken utterances to shine through. The chorus is catchy. The elevated intonation on “come find me” is so easy to sing along to. The band has excelled at creating a chorus that will draw you in and have you rewinding the track to sing it over. The voice that comes through on verse two is undeniably recognisable as Quinn joins in. The ebb and flow between the two vocalists gives the song different feelings as it plays and when the vocalists come together the harmony between them synchronises seamlessly. This track feels honest, from the message conveyed in it, right down to the way the words are sung.

Lives Lost are an alternative metal band who hail from Hershey, PA (USA). This latest release is only a taste of what’s to come on their latest EP, “Home”. The album is said to explore the concept of ‘home’ and how this isn't always a physical place, but can be found in our connections with others. it investigates the theme of self-exploration and reflection on the past in order to build resilience, find yourself and connect with others to redefine what your 'home' truly is.
'FOUND' is out now on all major streaming platforms. "home" will be released on 25/04/2025 via life or death
